I've checked as many stores as I could think of (either by calling or driving there): Factions is sold out everywhere. Not just the CE, but the "normal" edition also.

CompUSSR: "Dur, what's GUDLI WARZ?"
Best Buy: "LAWL, noob, we sold out of all copies, you sux0rz" (the person working in the game department had an attitude)
EB: "We're sorry, we just don't have your copy of the CE. We have one copy of the normal edition left."
GameStop: "All copies are reserved for pre-order customers."

That was generally what happened while I was hunting from here over into the next state over. (I had stuff to do while I was in Joisey this mornin'.)

Good news for ArenaNet (popularity = $$$), bad news for me (what am I supposed to do for the next month until the CE shows up at EB?)

Cancel the preorder. Create an account at plaync.com and purchase a Factions key. Play the game.

I'm not paying another $40-50 when I've already thrown down money for the CE.

I don't want a standard edition copy. Do you have anything useful you'd like to add?

Well, I'm still deciding wether or not to go ahead and cancel my ce preorder for a se, or wait a whole week till my ce gets here. Any advice from those who have gotten the ce? Would it be worth my while to wait?

I'm not suggesting that you lay out additional funds. You paid EB that money under the understanding that they would provide you with a copy of the game at release. If they are unable to do so then they have defaulted on the terms of your contract. Have them return your deposit and use those funds to purchase the standard edition.

I assumed that you meant you didn't want a second copy (a standard edition in addition to the collector's edition that you'd ordered). But you'd actually rather wait a month for an artbook and a few trinkets than play the game now? You've obviously got far more patience than I.

I dunno man, If you have 2 accouns I would cancell the CE and get reg, and drop it on the one you play the least to keep you busy until you can actually get CE. Thats what im doing but I intended on doing this before the bad news about NCsoft's messup. I guess its all about how much patience you have.

I have a second account, but I really only use it for storage, so I hadn't planned on activating factions with it. The main reason I wanted the ce was for the artbook, which I really liked in prophecies, but now I'm not sure if its worth the extra money and the wait.
